A very merry Un Christmas this year

At first I didn't notice, then it just came to me. While downtown I was aware of how little decorations there were. Inside stores there was either nothing at all or just little things. The hanging from the ceiling stuff, strings of lights, angel hair, tinsel were just not there. This is an indicator, thinks I. Then I look at the families I know and they are having really cutback activities this year. I have not seen a live Christmas tree yet. Its appropriate the sky is crying this year. Kids can't get outside to play with the electric bill they go this year.

Black Friday - or Thursday or Wednesday.... or all day every day..All the "PR" that sales were way up and people were having more confidence in the future may not be true. Wasn't true last year either and they did the same thing. Pump the public up in hopes they will spend money they can't afford. Then after the Christmas day tear up the toys ceremony, they will announce how late arriving data now indicates that this was a poor year for merchants.

The same is true for real estate. We heard how the housing market was turning around and people were buying homes again. Then...boom. Announcement that 2011 was the worst market since data was being kept.. That was in the '60s I think.
Pump and Dump.

I went to the Post Office at 12:40 PM and they were closed from 12:30 till 13:30. And all day Saturday. There is a nitch market coming up for mail delivery and transport. The postal service as we know it is dead. Over bloated. This is a good example of a business that cannot change to meet the demands of the consumer. Government Motors and all the rest. Chained to contracts that were OK in the salad days but an anchor today. Not to keep the boat in place but to drown the surviving swimmer.

Detroit government is a really good example. Downtown Detroit has no money cause all the taxpayers departed and only the gimmie gimmie's remain. Elected graft who gave graft and now its gone.
